The ED Awareness Quiz is an easy-to-use tool to estimate a patient’s risk for erectile dysfunction (ED). It takes into consideration risk factors like cardiovascular disease, smoking habits, and age to help determine a patient’s likelihood for ED. The tool is designed to calculate a patient’s risk of ED and can also be used to help educate patients about their likelihood of having or developing ED; it is not designed for self-diagnosis.
The tool is based on the study “Development and Validation of a Risk Score for Somatic Erectile Dysfunction: Combined Results From Three Cross-Sectional Surveys” published in European Urology in 2005. The study presents a simple risk tool that estimates the individual likelihood of somatic ED, based on age and existing health conditions.
You can use the ED Awareness Quiz to evaluate your patients’ risk for ED based on their responses to six questions. The tool compares your patient’s answers against those of 100 men of the same age and with the same health condition(s) and calculates the likelihood of ED. The printed results can be used to open a discussion about ED with your patients.
